The Pencil In Life

One year old for the old blogger.

Just noticed that last Friday, 27 March 2009 was the first anniversary of my "blast off" into blogosphere. I have posted a total of 406 postings.

Let me congratulate myself for a fruitful year. Over the past one year, I have learned a lot. The one person I must thank is my internet Sifu, a person called Chew Sadhu @ many other aliases.

I have also made a good number of friends, namely the good doctor Dr Hsu, Romerz, A true Malaysian, Gracie, Lili, and the 2 Chillies. "Bow" is also a frequent visitor. But very unfortunately, due to a trivial communication misunderstanding the great Monsterball was "sabotaged". Well win some lose some. That's the name of the game.

To all readers, visitors, commentors and tormentors, I say a big THANK YOU for making my day, or rather my year!

education ruined me.

Lesson In Logic

Lesson in Logic
If your father is a poor man,
it is your fate but,
if your father-in-law is a poor man,
it's your stupidity.

Lim Guan Eng Loves Tiger Show

It's actually very late now, or rather early in the morning past 12 mid-nite. Have been very busy with the new home. But cannot tahan lagi about Lim Guan Eng's obsession with "Tiger Show".

Has he gone nuts with too much power in his hands? Or maybe his young son said, "Daddy, I like Tigger!" For those who have children watching Playhouse Disney Channel, Tigger is the tiger in "Tigger and Pooh". I don't expect LGE to have the time to watch Playhouse and for this he may be excused for misunderstanding his son's comment.

To have imported tigers in the Island is preposterous. You have read enough negative comments and reasons against this silly idea. So I shall not repeat them.

Maybe to encourage eco-tourism, LGE should issue an edict to evict all Islanders to move to the mainland, just like me. Then all wild animals can roam free on the island, and tourists will love it!

How about that?

Back in action!

Happy days are here again. I finally got my lines connected, after a hectic 2 weeks moving to my new home. I am now officially not an "islander" for I've moved to the mainland of Penang.

A new lifestyle amidst a very quiet environment, with a little free space for my favourite plants and walk-around. Nearby within the housing estate is a decent-sized new supermarket with busy shoplots, but 1.5 km away from my home so I still have the quiet privacy. Indeed a very ideal place to "retire" and spend time on the internet.

Next few weeks will still be busy, so I shall only go slow on my blog postings.

If I have time I shall write about the proposed "Tiger Show" initiated by none other than Penang CM Lim Guan Eng. I am looking forward to enjoy the coming show. Wonder how will it compare with the ones staged in Thailand. Honestly, I never watched before.

Have a nice day!

Want to get rid of mosquitoes?

Just received this from the email. I'm going to give it a try.

Below is the "copy & paste" information:

[Mosquito control technique - useful tip!

The mosquito control technique but instead of using Lemon Fresh Joy, i used Harimau Kuat Lemon flavoured dish wash liquid (yellow bottle and about RM2.80) and..... it actually works.

Thanks to my niece. It's cheapand non poisonous like Ridsect of Fumakilla and the others. Finally, found this simple home tip:-You have a lot of mosquitoes in your bedroom? Try this.

Mosquito Treatment: So you don't like those pesky mosquitoes. Here's atip that was given at a recent gardening forum.

Put some water in a white dinner plate and add a couple drops of Lemon Fr R Set the dish on your porch, patio, picnic table, park bench, or other outdoor area.

Not sure what attracts them, the lemon smell, the white plate colour, or what.BUT ... mosquitoes flock to it, and drop dead shortly after drinking the Lemon Fresh Joy/water mixture, and usually within about 10 feet of the plate.

TRY IT--- it works just superb! It may seem trivial, but it may alsohelp to control mosquitoes around your home, (especially in areas where the West Nile virus is reaching epidemic proportions in mosquitoes, birds, and humans).Pass this on to anyone who likes sitting out in the evening, or when they're having a cook out. ]

Back after a hectic week

Hi everyone, I've been very busy moving house. Now a bit settled, but TM Bhd has delayed my transfer of my phone line citing "technical" problem unable to trace my area. What a reason.

So I am now using for the first time the internet in an internet cafe in my new place.

Just to say hello.

And wish everyone good health and happiness.

I am not "at home" without my own PC , so better to sign off now.
