The Cancer of Corruption!

( The zodiac sign of cancer. )

This is from The Star Online:

"The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a director of a government department who is said to be a millionaire, an officer and two rangers for allegedly accepting a bribe of more than RM100,000.

A special team from the Putrajaya MACC headquarters was believed to have seized more than RM300,000 from the director’s house in Kulim, Kedah, yesterday."

And this one from
Sun2surf:

"Police have referred to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) the report lodged against the wife of Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai pertaining to allegations contained in a letter published on the Internet."

And this from me:
Police officer jailed for "accepting" RM5 from motor-cyclist. Poor officer, my heart bleeds for you!

And there were two postings that I posted long time ago. The titles are "I too will succumb to temptation" and "The wise turtle and the little fishes".

Before you read them, let me share with you the comment by the good doctor in his blog about how the Hong Kong government tackled with complete success this cancer called corruption. This is extracted from his blog post in
Dr Hsu's Forum:

" Even in the setting up of ICAC in Hong Kong, during the initial phase, the police and all other enforcement departments went to the streets and threatened to go on strike, and in the end the authority have to give amnesty to everyone (almost everyone was corrupt at that time in Hong Kong) and promised there would be no witch hunt, and only corruptions after a certain date would be considered an offense, and those committed before that date would be forgiven.. That calmed the police down and slowly, corruption disappears."
