Hidden on page N21 of the Star was reported that "former MCA central committee member Datin Paduka Dr Tan Yee Kew officially joined PKR yesterday and her first task will be campaigning in the Permatang Pauh by-election". She further calimed that 2,079 members of MCA, Umno, MIC, local community associations and non-governmental organisations would be crossing over to PKR. If this is true, MCA should be very worried, if it is not already. This is bad publicity for MCA.
Meanwhile on the Star front page shouts "mother" of all by-elections with big guns ablazing, not even having decided which BN candidate it will be. Since when is Ezam a big gun? I don't think the Star is doing BN a favour giving front page to UMNO gathering with a bonus half page picture yelling "Perhimpunan Penyatuan Melayu Pulau Pinang"; while relegating the Anwar gathering to page 10 with a token picture. Not that it will make any difference.
Looks like it will be the "Mother of all BYE elections"!! Even if BN chickens out with a walk over; or would it be a run-away?
By the way, it was reported that "MCA youth chief and Penang MCA chairman Datuk Liow Tiong Lai was also in the constituency to meet division leaders here". Hey, where is Gerakan??
