Mandela 46664: The Man of Stainless Steel

Nelson Mandela celebrates his 90th birthday to-day Friday 18 July 2008.
He is a man of stainless steel, spending 27 years in jail under the brutal apartheid regime of South Africa. Due to the hard labour he endured in the lime quarry on Robben Island he had lost the functioning of his tear ducts. He was released from prison on 11 February 1990 and subsequently became President of South Africa from 27 April 1994 to 14 June 1999.

I salute you, Mr. Nelson Mandela. May you have good health, enjoy peace and happiness!!

Happy Birthday Mr Mandela!

Wikipedia has a good write-up on Mandela.

You can read from BBC news as well. BBC has also come up with this Audio Slide Show on Mandela in conjunction with his 90th birthday.

This is a good reminder to all our politicians on what a great leader should be.

[Did you notice Mandela's prisoner number? 46664. "666" is the sign of the devil. "4" as you know in many Chinese dialects means "die". I wonder who is the real devil?]

Gracie,

Actually we are being negative. As you know, "4" also means "yes" or "correct" in Hokkien!
