Be Calm; Do Not Do Anything Rash!!

(This post will be updated as and when latest events develop. Please check at the bottom of this post.)

This is the advice from our blogger friend, the well-respected
Dr Hsu at his blog today:

I would like to call upon all Malaysians to do these:

1. Remain calm

2. Do not do anything rash

3. Do not take to the street

4. Do not be instigated by people to demonstrate

5. Just voice it out in your blog, your comments to the blogs, and inform your friends and relatives about the situation

6. Call your Aduns or MPs and voice out your objection about these arrests and urge your representatives to voice out

7. Members of political parties, sms your leaders to pressure them to voice out

We shall object to these draconian acts by using civility and do not fall into the traps of giving the big brother a chance to declare emergency rule……

"Sin Chew reporter released
Just received word at 3.40pm that the Sin Chew Daily reporter, Tan Hoon Cheng, has been released by Bukit Aman. Awaiting official confirmation.
Hopefully, she has been given a ticket home to Penang!
A vigil had earlier been scheduled outside the Sin Chew office in Penang from 2.00pm to 6.00pm." @ Anil's blog.
(Latest: Just received word that the Sin Chew Daily reporter, Tan Hoon Cheng, has been released by Bukit Aman.) Tan Hoon Cheng has been released and arrived safely at her home in Bukit Mertajam at 4.30pm.
-------------------------------------------

"As head of Parti Gerakan Cheras, I strongly condemn using the archaic and draconian Internal Security Act to arrest the three citizens of Malaysia, namely raja Petra, Tan Hoon Cheng and Teresa Kok.

My members and I demand the immediate release of these three. If they have committed any wrong, they should be charged in court and not through detention without trial.

The three year suspension on the UMNO division chairman who had reportedly uttered certain seditious word, and the arrest of the reporter under ISA who reported what the division head has allegedly said, smacked of double standard and differential application of the law.

This is like warning the person who set the fire but arresting the one who reported the fire."
@ Dr Hsu's Blog .

"When talk is no longer sufficient we will act. We will act only peacefully, without burning tires or harming even a fly.
We will learn the lessons of Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Mandela and practice peaceful civil activism. We will stand together and rise in defence of our principles, our patriotism and our unity." @ People's Parliament

Justin,I try to leave commentson Datuk Ong Tee KIat's blog, but I found his posts are not updated.I appear to all malaysians whether internet savvy or not, please appeal and make sense to MCA and GERAKAN top guns,Please do something to save the innocent Miss Tan from further sufferings!!I am totally SHOCKED at this bullying act to deny an innocent reorter of her freedom just for doing her job!!If everything fails, just CROSSOVER,history will remember you for this selfless act.The Taiko cannot be trusted anymore.they are blinded by the fear of losing their political powers that they had lost their directions. This is the chance to make history to become new heroes.Malaysians are grateful and will remember you for that.

The recent situation that we are in now is actually the way (last resource) to create disturbances and they will take it as an excuse to arrest all the related MPs in order to fail the trial of power transition.

I am not a Malaysian but I have friends in Umno, PAS, PKR, political parties that attracts Malay as members. Also, I have Malay friends that not belongs to any political party.

Malay by nature are very simple people, well mannered and helpful.

But unfortunately, such good nature was being manipulated by politicians of all races to satisfy their objectives rather for the welfare of Malaysian at large, where Malay form the majority. Such manipulations, whether conciously or unconciously, had resulting in marginalisation within and amongst races.

Right thinking Malaysian, either with political or no political affiliation have to a certain extent, realise such manipulations, as what you all witnessed in 308 & PP elections.

Logically, those in power and position had a hard knock on their heads but their hearts ruled over their heads in facing such kind of situation. Thus we see reactions of issuing threats, non-sensicle statements and decisions that overshadowed rational minds.

Of course such reactions could have effects on Malaysians tone down their critics for a while, but definitely not forever.

So, issuing threats should not be the way as in any democracy, rakyat can use their last defence, ie voting power to elect the leaders that they want.

Truths will prevail ultimately, those in power and positions should realise this and rakyat has the final say.
