Marina Meets Raja Petra

Marina hugs Raja Petra after one of his court appearances earlier this year. — Picture by Choo Choy May (From Malaysian Insider)

This is a "copy and paste" from Anil's post:

Marina Lee meets RPK in Kamunting
A touching account of Marina Lee’s visit with Raja Petra in Kamunting. Once you read this, you will know why we need to get rid of the ISA:

First time To Kamunting Detention Centre
By Marina Lee Abdullah

This morning my family and I went to Kamunting to visit Pet. This being our first time there we left home 6am just to make sure we don’t miss the schedule time allowed: 8.30am to 2pm and the family is allowed weekly visits from Monday to Wednesday, Friday to Sunday. We brought some food, fruits, drinks, one pair of jeans, T-shirt and his glasses.

When we reached the gates of the Kamunting Detention Centre, we had to register at the gates and proceeded into the prison area, a huge area. There we had to go through another gate and had to deposit all our belongings into two lockers. Went through a door and told to go to counter 10. When we approached counter 10 there was this partition with no grills or glass, Pet was already sitting there waiting for us.

My first reaction was to run and give him a real big hug and kiss, at the same time my heart feeling so heavy seeing this hero of mine on the other side. Pet was sitting down and wearing white prison clothes. He has lost weight, looked very pale probably not seeing sunlight for almost 2 weeks now, his beard and hair growing longer.

At that point I had tears in my eyes but was trying really hard holding back my tears. I really did not want him to see me cry that would only make it really hard for him. I reached out to hold and rub his hands and did not let go for a minute. He was glad to see us because the last time we saw him was 8 days ago at Bukit Aman.

I asked him how he was coping and he said hard being under solitary confinement and it is for 3 months and after that only will he be able to interact with the other detainees. He will be moved into a dormitory where he will get to watch TV and read newspapers, New Straits Times and Utusan Malaysia.

He said he had 3 ustaz ( religious teacher) visit him this morning questioning about his religious knowledge and beliefs. The questioning was cut short cause of the family visit and would continue in the afternoon.
I told him to please be strong and don’t let them get to him. I said “Honey they have got your body but not your mind and soul, hang in there love we’ve coming to get you. The Pakatan Rakyat is on track to takeover the government. Just give us a bit more time, ok?”

I told him that this time around there is a difference on the use of ISA and that he had made that difference. There is tremendous outcry on the use of ISA and that Political Parties within the Barisan Nasional, Datuk Zaid Ibrahim the Law Minister had even resigned for the use of the ISA, the thousands of well wishes and support I have received. People all over are praying and standing behind us on this struggle for change that he has started.

I promised Pet that I will do everything I possibly can with the help of the people to get him released and I will stay strong and tough to keep that promise. I will not fail him.

He told me that word was out at the detention centre that RPK was there, and some of them manage to shout out to him across the brick wall telling him that they just saw him and his wife on TV. They were also trying to comfort him.

At one point I told him that I really needed to hug and that missed him so much and was reaching out to do that but he said he was not allowed to because there we two prison officier watching us and they were noting down everything and there were merits points given or taken away. I said “what’s that?” He said that there were certain rules for our visitation and if he break the rules visitation rites could be reduced and so on. I asked him, “you mean to say that giving you a hug is breaking the rules?” He said hugging is considered “kelakuan tak senonoh” improper or unbecoming behavior. I just could not believe it.

He then said that the first visit is the only time we are able to meet face to face and the subsequent visit will be through a screen and will have to talk on the phone. This will be for 9 months and of cause with good behavior from him. They go on merits he said like kindergarden school if you have behaved you get a candy.

He told me that he is being detained on 4 grounds,
1. 2 articles on Islam
2. The article on ‘Let’s Send the Altantuya Murderers to Hell”
3. Articles on the Leaders
4. Comments posted on the Blog, one of the commentor he mentioned was by Anti Anti-Hadith and Pet mentioned that he has his own Blog.

By then we were given the last 5mins call, I then told him, “Luv please trust me, we will get you out!”

Dear readers thank you so much for the well wishes that my family and I have received from all of you and I will stay strong with your help and support to take on this fight for change where my husband has left off until he is FREED.

Lots of love from my family and me. Source: Malaysia Today

Another message from Marina from her first visit to Kamunting yesterday:
“Her husband's greatest worry, she said, was that three months down the road, the public would have forgotten his existence…"He told me, 'Please tell them not to forget me'," Marina said...

My reply:
We/I will not forget you RPK. The campaigns to free you will continue and I`ll continue sending cards to you…for your birthday, for raya, deepavali, christmas, new year, even when there are no festivities…I hope to God, though, that you will be out before all those festivities…the biggest festivity, however, will be the celebration when you are released…but I`ll still keep sending you cards and greetings…We/I will not forget you…and just in case I get amnesia, I got your pic and the animated candle each time I start up my computer, to remind me…

I`m sending cards everyday…if you don’t get them, then those f---kers are not passing them to you…

If one reads on...one cannot believe it is Malaysia....Vision2020 and ONE already in Space!!
One feels like it is from a war torn country...and RPK is the most dangerous citizen ....of that war torn country..right now.
Yes...it sounds like Vietnam.....or Cambodia.
Back into reality....I and thousands of Malaysians are willing to defy the government....with protest walks and candle light vigils...but in K.Lumpur...we either defy them...prepared be arrested and go to jail ...and have water cannons and tear gas treatments again.
That should give UMNO strong reasons to impose Emergency Rule!!
That is also going against Anwar's advises......so we stay cool and composed....and pray for RPK...each by each way...sincerely.
Marina told RPK to stay focus..calm and strong......to trust her..and not to be brainwashed!!
She said..Anwar promised ISA be abolished..once he is in power.
Up to RPK..faith on Anwar now.
As for me..I will keep him busy with many letters. I promised to do my small humane part...for the love and respect I have for this brave brave Malaysian.
I feel so helpless and useless....right now!!
But I must comtr9l my anger...remember Mahatma Gandhi's advices.....also echoed by Anwar.

THIS ARTICLE OF MIND APPLIES TO YOU AS WELL ROMERZ, AND YOUR OTHER FRIENDS, I DARE YOU TO PUBLISH IT AT YOUR MAIN PAGE, PUTTING UP SUCH POSTERS, YOU GOT NO SHAME, HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF I DO THAT TO YOU, YES WE WANT CHANGE BUT NOT YOUR KIND OF CHANGE OK.

I feel sad with what is going on. To me , Pak Lah has always had the people at his heart, for Pak Lah it was the people first, my dear friends , we did not have to force our way through for freedom of expression but Pak Lah's softness on us allowed Malaysians to voice out and speak up. Now we know why a leader falls , thus from now on it would be a turning point and learning point for every leader wether Anwar or whoever that allowing the people to speak wil be your downfall, yes we malaysians have shown that , even in thailand same. Anil, imagine yourself being shot when you did a very minimal level of wrongdoings, imagine that , why i am saying so is that we are humans thus we r not 100% good, i assume even you have done bad anil, recall and see. to every action there is a reaction, its simple, Pak Lah did not know how to handle those unreleastic reactions at times thus he fell. Anil, calculate and see, we say now only the government reduce petrol prices, why before when they increase like last year all they did nothing to reduce it , calculate and see , could the government do so ha ? To me Pak Lah is a good man, if Mahathir could survive through by forming Mahathir SDN BHD at that time (UMNO BARU), why not Pak Lah when Pak Lah loves UMNO more than himself thats why he rarely had gripped over the people in his party and his party. World economies are tumbling thus we are minute in the world economy, we simply bring down prices, won't our economy die, ask yourself? Yes we want fair and clean governance but even Pakatan demolished an Indian Temple yesterday. We can help the people but the people cannot ask everything for free, i bet you the people wont be happy even if petrol was free thus our government has to take populist measures at time. Anil, why don't you promote better understanding of the current situation and explain rather than being the cause of the problem like I am the problem and be the solution to it , For what merpewira-wirakan yourself when you can contribute a lot better. You are bias in your postings, You talk about free and fair media saying our press is screwed up why don't you promote balance news info on your portal but no your r in fact one sided . I have met you at two teh tarik forums, you know me yet you may not remember but i know you. Thanks to people like you everything is screwed up, don't tell me Pakatan is good ok. Corruption is a continuous fight thus bringing down a government wont solve it . When Tunku started Malaysia , it was clean, slowly slowly it became bad, that time your predessors did nothing much anil but now you are an empty vessel making noise, you are like a cult with your members promoting wrong teachings. Even Pakatan is as fresh as Tunku , thus they will be corrupted in time to come in fact already with a few cases reported, we gave confidence vote to pak lah 2004, now we give pakatan endorsement, over time we screwed the BN up, not me but you ANIL and your other bloggers and friends, but we dont screw Pakatan up, thus they r enjoying down , TIME TO CHANGE..

REGARDS,

DALBINDER SINGH GILL

I DARE YOU TO PUBLISH MY COMMENT AT YOUR MAIN PAGE.

YOU GUYS (MEANING YOU ANIL AND YOUR FRIENDS) EVEN PLAYED UP AHMAD ISMAILS ISSUE AND SOLVED IT IN AN UNPROFFESIONAL WAY.

YES HE MAY HAVE PLAYED UP A RACIAL ISSUE BUT HE DID IT AS AN INDIVIDUAL THUS WE SHOULD HAVE HEED RESPECT TO CONSTANT ADVICE BY OUR PRIME MINISTER THAT WE ALL MUST BE UNITED AND NOT GET SPARKED BY SUCH STATEMENTS AS UNITY IS SENSITIVE IN MALAYSIA BUT NO INSTEAD WE STARTED PLAYING WITH IT, QUESTIONING RIGHTS OF OTHERS, JUST LOOK AT THE PRIME MINISTER, HE WAS SO CALM,QUIET AND PROFESSIONAL AS TO HIM UNITY IS IMPORTANT, FOR MAHATHIR ITS ANOTHER WAY TO GET ABDULLAH OUT, WE CIRCULATED SMS'ES TO BOYCOTT PETROL STATIONS, BUT YOU DID NOT COMMENT ON ALL THAT AND SAY THOSE MESSAGES WERE FALSE, YOU DID NOT COME OUT TO DEFEND ALL MALAYSIANS, PUT ASIDE AHMAD ISMAILS REPUTATION, FOR YOU ALL , IT WAS A TOOL , EXCUSE WAS TO PRESSURE THE GOVERNMENT IF NOT ACTION WONT BE TAKEN, WHAT DID YOU GET IN THE END BY GOING HEIGHTS, THE WRITER GOT ARRESTED. HAHA.

I USED A WRONG POSTING ON ANWARS BLOG TO JUST SAY ANWAR , PLEASE KEEP YOUR DIRTY TRICKS AWAY , THATS ALL, IMMEDIATELY I WAS LABELLED A RACIST BY HIS CULT FOLLOWERS AND READERS (THIS SHOWS HOW MALAYSIAN IS ANWARS READERS) - GO GOOGLE MY NAME AND YOU CAN SEE IT, ITS UNDER THE PAK SAMAD POSTING COMMENT , YET I APOLOGISED

WHY CANDLE LIGHT VIRGILS, WHEN WE HAVE OTHER WAYS, DID YOU ALL CLEAN UP THOSE STICKY CANDLE LEFTOVERS ON THE GROUND?

THIS ARE MY PERSONAL VIEWS, WITH NO EVIDENCE, DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO ME. BUT I SAY NO TO YOU OK .

ask your heart deeply ok , you are doing this for yourself and not for malaysians, it may sound like an accusation but a lie detector will tell a thousand words or God is the best solution, don' think i am bringing god in or anyone else . no

Dalbinder Singh Gill,

I hope you are well after writing your piece here and in Dr Hsu's and Romerz's blogs. Why the sudden change in your behaviour? (I've been following your previous comments in Romerz's blog)

If you have nothing else to say, why not as Romerz suggests, go do your own blog.

You are rude and are not welcome here.

Please read above "Advice" on top of the comment box which said:
"Thanks for communicating. Speak your mind, but please with decorum. I shall comment if need be."

monsterball said...

Justin...You should say to Dalbinder Singh Gill..."May I suggest you.....LEAVE THIS BLOG!!"
He is a NUT!!!

monsterball said...

I have never seen...Justin asking someone to leave his blog!!
Who's next???
Actually all written...only we cannot see that...unless you are a Buddha...yet must be the 7th Plane Buddda...right Justin?

I have faith that innocent people should not be in jail. They should have a fair trial to prove their innocence.

I have just sent a Birthday Card to RPK today.

I hope there will be more than 1 million cards sent to RPK by Deepavali time.

Justin,I am sorry BUT I disagree with you asking dalbinder singh to leave your blog. Why???He is rude and I definitely do not agree to his low class comments.BUT please remember,,,,,we must agree to disagree!!!Of course its your blog,,you can do anything you can.My suggestion is THAT if we do not agree with him ,we can HENTAM him back. Why worry!!!Even with Monsterball n romert n me can outcomment this fellow lah!!!Let him in,,,,,,,I am ready!!!!!what ridicilious fellow ,,,,,,,,he said he met Jeff Ooi BUT the problem IS whether Jeff Ooi agreed to attend this funtion before hand?????????What did this silly fellow say when he met Jeff on the function???Abdullah is a good fellow BUT the problem is He is very LEMBIK like dalbinder and he had NO leadership qualities!!!!He lose his chance after 2004 when he WAS OVER THE MOON!!!Everyone knew that his grassroots supports in Amno was not solid. If he push reforms after the ge in 2004,nobody can TOUCH him in Amno now BECAUSE the rakyats will support him all the way!!!!!!The warlords have to support him because of his popularity among the rakyat!!!!WHY???because he want to be MR NICE GUY in amno also he MISS the train to become the best PM malaysia ever have. For abdullah,no use crying over split milk now,its game over!!!!!!! So dalbinder,,,,you do not understand the true situation,,,maybe you are just as lembik as your hero.

cilihot....But if this... Gill guy is here to corrupt Justin's blog....as he is doing now at Dr.Shu and Romerz blogs...he should be told to go away.
I fully agree freedom of speeches and rights...to agree
disagree type of discussions.
Justin is sharp and smart.
He is not sensitive...to ban anyone...disagreeing with him..He is not banning anyone...he is not happy with..maybe me!!
He is telling a blog buster.. to get lost....and this is correct.
